NCQLP, National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions

The National Association of Independent Lighting Distributors, NAILD, appointed Sid Phillips, LC, Industry Wide Council Representative for NCQLP for 2003-2005. The National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions is an independent, non-profit certifying board which developed and regulates the Lighting Certified, LC credential. NCQLP and it’s member organizations within the lighting, design and government energy regulation fields developed the National Exam and Certification to insure knowledge of lighting application and technology is current. The LC credential is accessible to all potential candidates across the industry and tests knowledge and application of that knowledge in the areas of survey/ audits, lighting design, financial analysis, installation and commissioning, operations and maintenance, and regulatory compliance.(October 2003)

IESNA, Illuminating Engineering Society North America

Sid Phillips, LC, Vice President of Professional Lighting was appointed the new Landscape Lighting Committee Chairman at the recent annual meeting of IESNA held in Chicago, Illinois. He will be responsible for all committee actions and the release of an updated “Recommended Practices” publication to be released in 2004.(August 2003)
